Well I officially started my training today. I really probably should have started yesterday but couldn't drag my lazy butt out of bed :). I ran 11.3 on Saturday and I was pretty sure it was going to kill me. It was by far the WORST run I have ever had. I was planning on getting up at 6 and going because the weather has finally got nice! WHAOO! But I stayed up late watching a movie and woke up at 7:30. I was so bummed but knew I had to go. So I got ready and headed out the door. It was hot to me immediately, but the funny thing of it was when I got back I looked at the temp in my car and it said 61 degrees so it wasn't so hot that I needed to feel the way I did. I know it was totally a mind game. In my mind I wanted to be done by 8 but knew it would be 9:30 now so I was just bummed to begin with. I forget sometimes all the mind games there are with running and the mind games definitely won on Saturday. I was planning going 12 but my body shut down when I stopped at 11.3 for a drink :(.

This morning I got up and got going at 6. I was planning on going 9 but ended up doing 9.5. I felt good most of the run. I did have to stop for a potty break. I was very thankful my In-laws were on the way. It amazes me how hard it is to get going after those stops. Sometimes I wonder if that is just a mind game too because sometimes I will stop a couple blocks from home because I have reached my distance and don't want to run one more minute but then I will walk half a block and run the rest of the way home because walking is too slow :) I seriously can't believe there are 12 weeks until the marathon. I am so excited and nervous all at the same time.

Gymnastics is over so I should hopefully be more consistent. I did two fives last week and missed my long run due to state. Official training starts next week... Wish me luck :).

I have tried to kick my running into high gear this week. I got up and ran 5 yesterday and did a 10 today. I was a little slower than I wanted to be on my 10 today, but for the most part felt great. It is now down to 3 months until the big marathon. I really do love running but I really wish I was past the training and just ready for the big race day. I am glad I will have the TOU half in August to look forward to.

I seriously can't believe that I haven't updated this for over a month, but in all reality I have been slacking off for about that long. It is gymnastics season so my runs have been few and far between. I have only been running 1 to 2 times a week and I even went 10 days without running :(. I got back to it this week. I ran a 5 Tuesday night and a 4 last night. I got the training schedule I am going to be using. Here is the link:

Luckily I have a friend that customized it to me so I will really start training soon, but for now I am just going to try and find a schedule I can do 4 - 5 times a week and then increase the runs as suggested. I can't believe there is only 14 weeks until race day! Whahoo! I am excited to run and excited to get it over with.
